Everything that you ever wanted to know about the Crossbar Challenge.
- The Crossbar Challenge has featured on “Soccer AM” a British television show on Sky Sports.
- It has been a feature of the show since 2006.
- The aim of the challenge is to hit the crossbar of the goal from the halfway line.
- Usually the entire squad, sometimes including coaching staff, take on the challenge.
- The challenge is very difficult.
- The English FA suggest that a pitch should be 110 x 70 yards (100 x 60 metres), this means the halfway line is around 50 metres from the crossbar!
- The crossbar is 8ft off the ground and 24 ft long. (2.5 x 7.6 metres)
- Manchester United have not featured on the challenge and probably never will, they do not tend to take part in such shows.
- The current champions are Northampton Town and Hereford United who both hit the crossbar 3 times.
- The most searched for and popular team on the Crossbar Challenge Blog is Chelsea.
- The background music from the show is currently “Smiling” by The Beta Band, previously it has been “Seventeen Years” by Ratatat.




we was on soccer am crossbar challenge in september of last year as irish guards lad in basra!!! but were not on here
terrible..plus we never got tshirts..no good
